In addition to natural wood options (rubbed wax, brush applied waterless sealant or wipe-on oil based clear coat), we offer a range of hand applied finishes including stains, sprayed lacquer in solid colors, ebonized, and pickled/white wash. All of our finishes are applied after the frame is assembled for a consistent and seamless look.

Beeswax: Beeswax is a natural wax that is derived from the honeycomb of bees, and it has been used for centuries as a finish for wood and other materials. It is easy to maintain and when applied to wood, a beeswax finish creates a soft, natural sheen that enhances the wood's natural beauty and protects it from wear and tear. Unlike some other finishes, beeswax does not darken or alter the wood's natural appearance.

Wax Paste: Wax paste is a natural wax harvested from the leaves of the brazilian carnauba palm. Wax paste has gained popularity, due to its slightly higher durability over synthetic products. It is easy to maintain and protects the wood from minor scratches, stains, and unwanted moisture. When applied, it enhances the wood’s natural beauty with a warm and inviting sheen.

Oil Varnish: Oil Varnish is a natural product harvested from nut trees and mixed with a natural resin to provide a stronger protective layer than typical oil finishes.

Water based Clear and Satin: Water based polyurethane is a safe and environmentally friendly option that can provide both a clear or satin finish to natural wood. Unlike oil, water based polyurethane opens up the wood fibers allowing for deeper penetration and more brilliant color while still protecting the frame from scratches, stains, and unwanted moisture.

Polymer rub (Rubio Monocoat): Rubio Monocoat is a durable plant-based, hard wax oil. It provides a matte luster that maintains the natural look and feel of the wood.

Acrylic hand finishes (Nova Color): Our acrylic hand finishes can be in a wide range of colors that you desire. We take great pride in our craftsmanship and deliver a smooth, glossy uniform treatment to the frame with high quality artist-grade acrylic.

Sprayed solid colors (Belton): Our spray finishes are available in a large range of colors. We use high quality Belton spray paint to apply an even glossy finish.
